The International Journal of Computational Materials Science and Engineering (IJCMSE) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice.
Publication Ethics
IJCMSE adheres to the ethical guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and follows best practices for scholarly publishing.
Author Responsibilities
Originality and Plagiarism
- Authors must ensure that submitted work is entirely original.
- Proper acknowledgment of other works must be given through appropriate citations.
- Plagiarism in all forms constitutes unethical publishing behavior and is unacceptable.
- All submissions are checked using plagiarism detection software.
Multiple or Concurrent Submissions
- Manuscripts must not be under consideration elsewhere while under review at IJCMSE.
- Publishing the same research in multiple journals is considered unethical.
Authorship
- All individuals who made significant contributions should be listed as authors.
- Ghost authorship and gift authorship are prohibited.
- All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript.
- Changes to authorship after submission require editor approval and written consent from all authors.
Conflicts of Interest
- Authors must disclose any financial or personal relationships that could influence their work.
- Funding sources should be acknowledged.
Data Integrity
- Authors should present data accurately and honestly.
- Fabrication and falsification of data are serious research misconduct.
- Authors should be prepared to provide raw data if requested.
Editor Responsibilities
- Editors evaluate manuscripts based solely on academic merit, regardless of author characteristics.
- Editors maintain confidentiality of submitted manuscripts.
- Editors identify and address potential conflicts of interest.
- Editors ensure fair and timely peer review process.
Reviewer Responsibilities
- Reviewers must maintain confidentiality of manuscript contents.
- Reviewers should provide objective, constructive feedback.
- Reviewers must declare any conflicts of interest.
- Reviewers should not use manuscript information for personal advantage.
Handling Misconduct
If misconduct is suspected or proven:
- The matter will be investigated following COPE guidelines.
- Authors will be given opportunity to respond to allegations.
- Appropriate action will be taken, which may include:
- Rejection of manuscript
- Retraction of published article
- Notification to author's institution
- Ban from future submissions
Corrections and Retractions
- Corrections (Errata): Published when significant errors are identified that affect interpretation but not conclusions.
- Retractions: Issued when findings are unreliable due to misconduct or honest error, or for plagiarism/duplicate publication.
